Are you politically exposed?
You are politically exposed if you have or have had a high-ranking public position, for example:
- Minister or permanent secretary
- Member of the Parliament or the European Parliament
- Supreme Court judge
- Ambassador or senior officer in the armed forces
- Director or board member in state-owned companies (where the state owns more than 50%)
- Member of the Executive Board or Board of Directors of the National Bank
Does this also apply to family?
Yes, you are also considered politically exposed if your spouse, partner, parents or children hold one of the above positions.
What should I do?
Answer the question in the report honestly. If you are unsure whether your position is covered, feel free to contact your bank, which can assess the situation.
Most board members of ordinary associations are not politically exposed.
