To use your own domain (e.g., association.dk instead of association.unioo.io), the domain must be pointed to Unioo's server via a change in your DNS.
Once the change is completed, everyone who visits your domain will automatically be redirected to your portal in Unioo.
Important: If you currently use the domain for an existing website, it will be replaced when the DNS record is changed.
What do you need to change?
Your domain must point to Unioo's server. This is done via a DNS record — either an ALIAS/ANAME record (recommended), a CNAME record, or an A-record.
- ALIAS/ANAME points to our domain name: clients.unioo.io The recommended method, as you won't need to update anything if we change the IP address in the future.
- CNAME is used if you want to point a subdomain to us (e.g., members.association.dk). The CNAME record points to the same domain name: clients.unioo.io — and can be created with all providers.
- A-record points to our IP address: 162.19.49.84 Use this if your provider does not support ALIAS/ANAME.
Below you can see how to set it up with the most common providers.
If you use Simply
ALIAS or ANAME (recommended)
We recommend that you use ALIAS or ANAME instead of an A-record. That way, you don't have to update the settings if we change the IP in the future.
- Log in to simply.com
- Go to DNS administration
- Click on "Add DNS record"
- Select ALIAS (or ANAME) as the type
- Save the change
Fill in the fields as follows:
- Name: @
- Value: clients.unioo.io
- TTL: can remain as it is
If an ALIAS or ANAME record already exists with @ in the Name field, you should edit it, not create a new one.
A-record (alternative)
If you are unable to use ALIAS, you can use an A-record instead.
- Log in to simply.com
- Go to DNS administration
- Click on "Add DNS record"
- Select A-record as the type
- Save the change

Fill in the fields as follows:
- Name: @
- IP / Value: 162.19.49.84
- TTL: can remain as it is
You can optionally write "Unioo" in the comment field (this is just for your own reference).
If an A-record already exists with @ in the Name field, you should edit it, not create a new one.
If you use DanDomain
DanDomain currently does not support ALIAS or ANAME records on root domains. Therefore, it is necessary to use an A-record here.
- Log in to DanDomain
- Go to DNS administration
- Find the A-record for your domain (the root domain)
- Change the IP address to: 162.19.49.84
- Save the change
DanDomain's own guide can be found by clicking here.
Using another provider?
The procedure is the same regardless of who you use. Log in, find the DNS administration, and set up an ALIAS or ANAME record pointing to clients.unioo.io (recommended). If your provider does not support this, you can instead create an A-record with the IP address 162.19.49.84. If you want to use a subdomain, see the section on CNAME below.
Setting up CNAME (subdomain)
If you want to use a subdomain (e.g., members.association.dk), you must create a CNAME record. This works with all providers.
- Log in to your provider
- Go to DNS administration
- Click on "Add DNS record"
- Select CNAME as the type
- Save the change
Fill in the fields as follows:
- Name: the subdomain you want (e.g., members)
- Value: clients.unioo.io
- TTL: can remain as it is
After the change
In most cases, the change takes effect within 1–2 hours. In rare cases, it can take up to 48 hours before the update has fully propagated.
This is completely normal and requires no further action.
